Sensible suggestions only please folks! Having been without my car these past few months no thanks to Tesco Car Insurance I have come to appreciate how hard and bearable life can be without your own family car especially when your children mention it from time to time and how much they miss their car.
Would have to agree with you on the car front. Passed my test over 35 years ago and living in the middle of no-where a car was my passport to freedom. Had 25 wonderful years driving for a living so could not imagine life without a car.
Mind you i would also miss (real) beer, chocolate and TV, but the car would be No1.
My passport (except the 9 year old photo in it!! Who the hell is THAT person?!)
Lol Parchester, have you really changed that much??
It's frightening when you look at past ones isn't it Parchy? Not inferring yours would be frightening but mine certainly is.
Without a car I'd be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no buses or other means of transport so that's one..and my phone, how on earth could I live without a phone now??? I grew up in the days of running to the phonebox a couple of streets away, but I soooo love my mobile and the fact that I can keep in touch with my children when they're out!
Yes the car would be one and I never thought I would say it but yes my computer. How else could I keep in contact with my dear money friends!
Very close call for me between PC and mobile I have to say Lillie
I was so sceptical and a little scared when my first PC was put in front of me.
I always thought I would make a scary mistake or launch something and wipe out a nation but that fear soon blew over thank goodness. Look at me now, one of the many 'silver surfers' out there still discovering the wonders of www.
Think we all felt like that at first Lillie..first time you do anything can be a bit scary, and put you on a high afterwards.............
It would have to be the car, as we live in a rural area with zilch public transport,
Other than that, has to be the computer so I can be silly with you guys...!
PS to previous message - I'm with you on the beer, Bonz!
What's your fave tipple??
Beer front: London pride, Speckled hen, Spitfire, etc.
Spirits: Bourbon or a good Single Malt.
A large G&T with ice and a slice.
Hubby's fave beer is the Spotty Chook, Whisky would be Glenmorangie..
Youngs Bitter 3.8%. Speckled Hen and Sptfiire too bloody strong for a session, and too sweet for me.
As for spirits, bring on the G & T!
Definitely living in a rural area the car would be something that would be very difficult to be without. We could go on the bus for some journeys but others would take hours. Second would be my computer as I wouldn't be able to be in contact with all my friends on the forum. Life would be so dull without the postings mad or otherwise.
Like others I would be really stuck without my car. I live in a rural area and public transport is almost non-existant. The local post office, shop and pub have all closed since we moved here and there is no school, doctor or dentist nearby. We have to make our own fun!
I would also really miss my phone and laptop as time and moneysavers (discussed on another thread).
I would miss my car and motorbike, but I deliberately moved somewhere where I could just about manage without if absolutely necessary, so I would say my laptop!
It has to be my laptop. It's how I communicate with family, earn my living and find just about EVERYTHING out, as well as being my favourite way to rest and relax whenever I'm NOT working.

Aah yes, my favourite tipple would be sadly missed too, my lovely squishy pillow also my homemade strawberry ice cream.
As you can probably tell Bonz I'm fairly easy to please.
Love it, Lillie!
