Are fake coins a really bad thing, or just a bit more quantitative easing........?
You cannot be serious!! Condoning counterfeiting!! Shame on you!! :-)
Personally, when i get one i either give it to the kids or bung it in a parking meter.
Unfortunately there are millions (perhaps over 30 million fake £1 coins in UK circulation according to a newspaper report last year). It is unacceptable and criminal for any economy to have fake coins or notes in curculation.
Ah 'quantitative easing' there's that term again Feline.
I suppose I could save them up and put them towards a printing press and print out some of the big stuff now that would really ease my quantitives.!!
Love it, Lillie - the big idea...!
Excellent, Lillie! :-)
I was on holiday one year when I put my car parking money in about £15 came flying out. I gave the chap behind me enough to pay his car parking and even then made a profit of about £8.
Wow, Sabre...I'd be one of those saddos that would hand it into the Council offices!
Not so long ago, all the machines in the local car park I was using were full and everybody else just b******d off without paying, I sat there like a lemon and waited till the attendant came and emptied one! No wonder I'm not rich! :-)
Whoops fruity I feel guilty now but honestly didn't know where the
Council Offices were (tongue in cheek). Mind you on that holiday I think I spent about £30 on car parking so they got plenty from me.
I think you are exceptionally honest fruity
No, Sabre, you did what most people would do...I'm the idiot! :-)
I would get rid as soon as possible probably in a car park.
I haven't seen many of these for a while, Feline, but I bet they're proliferating in these current times...I'm afraid I'd just get rid of it asap too! What else can you do?
'A bit more quantitative easing...'......LOL!!
Nobody in their right mind is going to take them to the bank or the police and say 'Have these fake coins and I'll just smile and lose my money'.
But, on a smaller scale than the Bank of England, isn't this just injecting money into the economy?
Waits for flak.....
Having a discussion with an opinionated friend this evening and he was saying that everything in life you go out to buy is at 'joke money' prices because things have risen so much that they bear no relation to the earning power needed to fund them. So the money may as well be fake for all the value it has ..... but providing we all recognise and exchange this fake money in a never ending circle, who can complain? Remember to always allow your cat to eat the odd fake £1 coin ... that way, you'll always have money in the kitty.
I agree with creative saver, it is criminal to have these fake coins circulating. When the professional fraudsters who make and circulate them are caught, they should be tried for treason, It does sound harsh, i know; but, what better way to be against your country and fellow countrymen, than to contribute to-wards its` bankcrupcy, which is just what they are doing !
Hang draw and quarter those traitors!
>;o)
On the other hand what about the injected money into the economy? Is it just inflated numbers on a screen to play with or real currency! I wouder? The ticking time bomb or the bubble has sure been pop't and taken us back whether it's 50, 60, or 70 years. Democracy Rome, where it started is left in rouine for generations! A lot can be said.... But we're just servants tax payees of Bratannia!

Give it to the kids? That's a bit mean when they go to spend it Bonz :)
Fair cop, you've got me sussed!!
If you asked my kids to describe me in 1 word it would probably be 'mean'!!!
I've worked bloody hard for my money, if they think they're going to see a penny of it they can dream on!!! :-)
Good for you Bonz I'm spending most of mine.
And on and on and on, Bonz!
LOL, Sabre!
Bonz, you need to go on SKI holiday - stands for Spending the Kids' Inheritance.
Oh I love that term Feline...Ski holiday....lol.
Lol Bonz, you did make me laugh!!
