I say yes after that public brawl of a press conference.I am very suspicious of some of the events.David Haye the boxer does NOT hold a boxing licence anymore (so the media press confirmed)yet he went to Germany to watch Klitcho Versus Chisora and allegedly stayed at the same hotel as Chisora. After the fight he walked into the press conference shouting abuse without being held back form the secutiry men. That seems very strange to me.
After this public brawl the 2 have virtually sold a fight which has attracted the media and once you have attracted the media hype lots od people will be sucked into paying good money for a boxing match between the 2 that would otherwise NEVER have sold.
I say both men should be banned but I suspect the 2 will be allowed to box each other in the ring after this farce! It is NO wonder the ladies HATE boxing.
Interesting topic, CS.
I think they probably should be banned, but let's ask a slightly deeper question. Perhaps boxing should be banned altogether?
Look at Muhammed Ali who was a beautiful and intelligent man, reduced to a dribbling wreck by the brain damage inflicted by being regularly beaten about the head in the name of sport.
Fox hunting was banned in the name of cruelty to foxes - although it was really only done by Bliar to divert attention from important political topics and to grab some popular votes. So shouldn't boxing be banned in the name of cruelty to boxers.....?
I'm trying to do what I do best here by playing Devil's advocate to get a discussion going, so please don't bombard me with replies calling me a fox-hater. However, please do feel free to thank me for being a Bliar-hater!
Haye was there in a working capacity, with a media company I believe.
Reinforces what i said about boxing in an earlier thread - should be banned its just for thugs who cant get a job doing anything else - not a good idea to give millions to thugs - they just end up using it to rape women and abuse people then hire a lawyer to get em off - Tyson anyone?
At least Klitschko had the good manners and did it man-style and ignored the puny little girlie slap from Chisora - I mean threatening to shoot someone and set them on fire - cmon these people are just thugs by any other name.
Gamesmanship i think not!!!
Well said, Omen - but a bit unfair regarding Tyson, because his then wife Robin Givens and her lawyer mother were a nasty pair who goaded a simple man until he could take no more and then took him for everything. Tyson was a decent respectful human being if you ever heard him before Ms Givens got her claws into him - he was directed into boxing to utilise energy that might have otherwise got him into serious trouble, this also being the story for many other boxers. Yes, of course, boxers are by definition thugs who cannot make a living by any other means, but at least it's regulated thuggery....
Hmm biting someones ear off.
We will have to disagree on that one!!!
>;o)
Omen, we are in accord.
I could no more bite someone's ear off - or any other body part for that matter! - than I could fly to the moon.
Yip most boxers are just animals by any other name thats why they do what they do as destroying , killing and maiming is all they are good for!
Perhaps we should send these two turds to Afghanistan where their talents would be fully utilized???
Excellent idea Omen
I think that's an insult to animals, Omen. ;-)
Chisora can be professionally dealt with by the British Boxing Board of Control. After being interviewed by the Geman Police he has been released without charge.
However, David Haye does not have a licence to box cannot be dealt with professionally and so, therefore, should be charged as an ordinary citizen and be dealt with as a thug who threw the first punch with a bottle in his hand.
Frank Warren who is Chiora's manager said that there was no security ptresent in the room and that is why the matter got out of hand. However, this is the same man who also states that boxing shouldn't be banned because it teaches people self-discipline and personal control.
Given what has happened, Warren's belief in and words of support in the power of boxing are floored and are most defintely knocked out.
Warren has seen this as a wonderful opportunity to promote at some point in the future a grudge match, which he will make a great deal of money out off as would the two protaganists.
Therefore, this must never be allowed to happen and therefore Chisora should receive a life ban and also be dealt with in the courts for making a threat to shoot Haye.
Haye who used his professionally trained fists as weapons outside of the ring should receive a long-term prison sentence.
Yes goes to show you cannot judge on first impressions - everyone said David Haye was such a gentleman - poppycock!
Absolutely in agreement with you there.
One word answer: Yes.
What a pair of prats Yes they should both be banned and heavily fined for at least a public order offence.Yet again it happened in Germany and German law being different to ours they could end up being imprisoned.Let the Germans sort the offence out might just open their eyes a bit in a German Jail.

Thankyou for being a Bliar-hater. I too will stand up against the vacuous media-savvy populism-manipulating tendencies which have blighted politics since 1997.
As for boxing, it's a free world: if people want to do it and other people will pay to watch it, then there's a viable business model, but I will exercise my right to have no interest in it.
As for Chisora and Haye, the former is just an animal (no respect for his opponents) and the latter is just jealous that it was Chisora rather than himself earning a lot of money in the ring against Klitchko. Neither of them is demonstrably upto the standard of the Klitchko brothers. I'd ban both of them for misconduct in their respective fields.
Fair play to you, the truth! I did say I was playing Devil's advocate!
