What Is The Special Quality Moment That Cheers Up No End In Such Chilly Weather Everywhere?

Sitting down with family members with a hot mug of milk chocolate drink in an extremely well heated room enjoying the live football.

Curling up on the sofa with cups of tea or brandy!

by Lana, 3 months ago

yes the brandy sounds very good and whats better then that is another one !

by bluej, 3 months ago

Snuggling up on the sofa with my lovely other half and a warm blanket, mug of hot chocolate in hand. If the live football was on I would rather go back out into the cold weather, fortunately o/h feels the same so snuggle-sofa time is safe.

by wendiew, 3 months ago

Lighting the log fire, put Classic FM on the radio, and relax in the warmth and glow! Decadent!

by greydo, 3 months ago

Hot chocolate, good book, dog on my feet and cat on my lap..and children absorbed in doing something!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

A really good film on either a DVD or T.V. with a lovely hot drink of cocoa all nice and warm with a soft blanket to keep the warmth in. Or a really good book you can't put down also with the hot drink of cocoa and perhaps a bag of crisps or a couple of ginger nuts.

by Sabre, 3 months ago

sabre,i belive every thing you said except the hot cocoa maybe a hot toddy ?

by bluej, 3 months ago

I'll join you for the hot toddy, bluej. Hot chocolate is too sweet for me.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

A drop of alcohol and I'd be fast asleep.....

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I can think of worse things in this weather!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Got too much to do feline..as soon as I've finished on here...........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Bluej, I love a hot toddy when I'm ill! It does wonders!

by serena1, 3 months ago

Do you know, we are an easy bunch to please aren't we??

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Yes good idea CS. I like marshmallows in my chocolate, do you?

I daresay hubby will be watching the rugby later on.

by LILLIE, 3 months ago

I just had a nice drink of ginger wine bluej. Warms the cockles of the heart as the saying goes. It certainly gives fire to the throat. Shall be asleep shortly.

by Sabre, 3 months ago

Maybe that's what Snoopy needs at night......?

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Watching The Lord of The Rings on the widescreen in a room lit only by candlelight, with a bottle of really good red wine to hand.

by G-Man, 3 months ago

A girl on the other hand... :)

by serena1, 3 months ago

I wish... Think I need to open a second bottle now in commiseration :(

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Not at all!! Best things cum to those who wait....

by serena1, 3 months ago

Meat loaf is one of my very favourite groups Feline. It has to be on very very loud and I try to sing to it too. Hope you haven't spilt your wine. Who do you love by the way. x

by Sabre, 3 months ago

Serena, I just hope its worth waiting for........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Well Jazzj so am told many times over and over again yet to experience it personally...

by serena1, 3 months ago

Reckon its just something they tell us to keep us quiet.........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I guess we just have to wait and hope someone fills us in...,

by serena1, 3 months ago

here we go again.. Snoops was offering to full us in with his vast experience a couple of days ago......best offer I've had in ages!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I wonder if that offer still stands after all it's not compulsory to kneel....

by serena1, 3 months ago

Depends how tall you are, serena!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

I love those films G-Man - sounds very romantic lit only by candlelight and a bottle of red wine. Some lucky girl to share it with ?

by Sabre, 3 months ago

You bet me there, Sabre! I was just about to ask that as soon as i read G-Man's post!

Similar minds we share... "Great minds think alike"

by serena1, 3 months ago

Sadly not... But candles and red wine add to the atmosphere for these movies :)

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Two out of three? Not bad...

by serena1, 3 months ago

... As Meatloaf sang :)

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Ah, awash on a sea of nostalgia now, G-Man!

Just for a moment, I could almost see paradise by the dashboard light, then I realised it was just a distant memory.....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

You've got a lot to answer for now, G-Man. I decided it was time to go and do something sensible, got into the kitchen and started peeling some vegetables, then couldn't stop thinking about being barely 17 and barely dressed!

Had to rush back to the computer like a bat out of hell, now I'm all revved up and nowhere to go!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

It's just getting worse, G-Man!

Came back here and left cooker on, just imagining now being torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike....

Fortunately managed to save the sausages.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Then I thought, well, for crying out loud .

by Feline123, 3 months ago

You know I love you.....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

My dear Feline are we imbibing a little this grey afternoon??
If so please pass the bottle..x

by LILLIE, 3 months ago

Having a glass of wine, Lillie, but enjoying the Meatloaf nostalgia more.....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Ah now I understand....Meatloaf songs. I'm now picturing you Feline dancing around the kitchen with your glass in hand singing away.... but do watch out for those bangers though they're not nice burnt...

by LILLIE, 3 months ago

I've added the red wine now, Lillie, Think they'll be OK. Just going to put the mushrooms in.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Odd thing is my children are really into Meatloaf, and its not come from me!! A revival going on perhaps.........?

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Interesting, Jazz, how old are they?

I saw him live at Wembley Arena in 1980 - absolutely bloody awesome.....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

For givin' and for takin' and for calling my name....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Between 11 and 17 feline, its the middle two that are really into it :)

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Your kids have great taste, Jazz!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

OK, guys, don't worry I'll be gone when the morning comes.....

by Feline123, 3 months ago

You must be running out of steam by now feline......?

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Yep, you've gone quiet..exhausted yourself......?

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

A revival? I think it'd be amazing for a Gaga / Meatloaf duet a la Meatloaf and Cher :)

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Ah, G-Man, I always wondered what that thing was that he wouldn't do - now I know!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

You took the words right out of my mouth, G-Man. When I saw him he did a duet with Elkie Brooks which was quite something.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Elkie Brooks...now there's a blast from the past!

'Bat Out of Hell' just keeps coming back, it never dates because it was never 'of its time' in the first place...a truly amazing, unique and wonderfully irresistible album! 'Paradise By the Dashboard Light' has to be a serious contender for the best (and funniest!) song lyrics ever!

by fruitcake, 3 months ago

You're so right, fruits. Definitely top of the list to take to the desert island.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Now you lot will perhaps understand why I sometimes get my Parchy mixed up with my G-Man and my Sabre mixed up with my Lillie.....

It's because your avatars are dead ringers.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

I made the mistake of reading the books first which means I never enjoy the films, same with the dragon girl films

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I loved the girl with the dragon films but i haven't read the books yet got them sitting to read

by serena1, 3 months ago

I couldn't put them down :)

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I've been given three girl with the dragon books so looking forward to reading them.

by Sabre, 3 months ago

I really enjoyed them, some bits need a strong stomach though!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

"three girl with the dragon " Sabre? It doesn't sound what we're all talking about...
What on earth are you watching?... Lol!

by serena1, 3 months ago

ROFL Serena, you suggesting she's got somethong dodgy??

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I've got my suspicions... Can't wait till to read the book - surely she'll put it in... Lol

by serena1, 3 months ago

Put what in where Serena...............???

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I just couldn't speculate let's just wait and read the book she brings out perhaps it'll have photos or diagrams...lol
Wondering what section it'll be under...

by serena1, 3 months ago

Sounds like D&D slash fiction!

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Oh I SEE, you meant the book she's going to write!!

She might rope you in for the photos........... lol

Oh dear, I do hope she doesn't mind us pulling her leg when she's not here to defend herself!!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Have I fallen asleep and woken up in some strange parallel universe.....?

One minute we're having a cosy chat about hot chocolate in front of the telly then, suddenly, it's about who's putting what in where...

by Feline123, 3 months ago

At the risk of showing my ignorance what's D & D? Dungeons and dragons is what comes to mind...........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Please tell us G-Man I'll not sleep D&D?...

by serena1, 3 months ago

Glad its not just me that didn't know..death and destruction?

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Aynthing with slash in sounds too scary for me.........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Your doing better than I am, Jazzj! I'm not good at guessing I like it if someone gives it to me straight...

by serena1, 3 months ago

Don't we all dear, don't we all............

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I don't think we're getting it from G-Man tonight...
Just going to have to sleep on the D&D...

by serena1, 3 months ago

I was wondering too.

I think you're right, Serena, he won't be giving it to us tonight.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

There's a name for that, Feline!
Is it cruelty or teasing?....

by serena1, 3 months ago

Hmmm, probably both, serena!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Sorry, playing Portal on the ps3.

D&D is indeed Dungeons and Dragons! And slash fiction is an 'adult take' on a known fictional world. Hmm. Strictly, with 3 girls it'd be the femslash sub-genre...

by G-Man, 3 months ago

Good grief, I have an early night and look what happens. I didn't take my lap top to bed with me last night only my pussy who purred contentedly. !!

Now these books I have been given start with "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Larsson and then another two follow on. Sorry if I confused you.

I was beginning to think G-Man could see into my bedroom when he mentioned DD. I actually wondered if I had a two sided mirror !!! lots of fun eh.

Just you lot wait until I write my book I need all the nitty gritty and naughtiness so bring it on and you never know you might see yourselves in it one day. I've collected lots of it already and Omen and G-man and Snoops are very generous with their smuttiness so it'll all be there.

Hope this sorts the confusion and you don't actually think I'm having a three in the bed. I assure you it's only pussy and me and he lies on the top.

by Sabre, 3 months ago

G-Man can't believe we were ditched last night for your ps3!
You left Feline, Jazzj and i hanging in anti climax...lol

by serena1, 3 months ago

Typical man, serena!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Been so long I can't remember feline.........

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Aaah, Jazz!

Never forget that you're better off on your own than with some git.....!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Yes Feline is right Serena. Take your time meeting someone and don't be in a rush to remarry. Think what you are doing and don't let it go to your head too quickly. It all seems wonderful at first and if you are very lucky it will continue in the same vein but quite often after the first bloom wears off you realise they are not what you are looking for and you may have made the biggest mistake of your life.

I am not being doom and gloom just warning you having had life's experiences good and bad. (Feel like your Mum now).

by Sabre, 3 months ago

Absolutely, having finally escaped from a bad marriage I've no intention whatsoever of going down that route again!!!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Thanks money mum (sabre)!
I can assure you I have no intention to remarry but if I manage to fall into a trap I will give you plenty of notice to buy a hat!

by serena1, 3 months ago

Perhaps we could all turn up in matching red hats!

by Feline123, 3 months ago

My mum always used to say 'red hat no drawers'.............

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Ooooh Jazzj, i thought we were friends....
Red hats all the way Feline lol

by serena1, 3 months ago

Oh Serena, don't be daft, of course we are, it just makes me smile every time I see a red hat!! Wasn't implying anything at all about your undergarments...............lol

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

The other one I remember my Mum saying was 'All fur coat and no knickers'.

by Feline123, 3 months ago

Oh yes, my mum said that too!!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

I love to watch a film, lying on the couch, fire on, phones are off and just in total peace with a glass of rose and nuts... hmmm
Bliss!

by serena1, 3 months ago

And how often do you get to do that.....??? I must be doing something wrong!

by Jazzj, 3 months ago

Recommend me a good film then Serena 1 because the only good films these days are repeats.

by creativesaver, 3 months ago

I feel on the spot now cs as I'm not sure what type of films your into you. As you quite rightly said there's so many remakes. But I will recommend "memento" it is a fantastic film I've never seen anything like it also another film but I warn you it's quite disturbing is "precious" I quite like serious films with drama... Let me know if you watch either...

by serena1, 3 months ago

Hi Serena1.I'm into James Bond movies and Hitchcock type thrillers.Who stars in "Memento" and "Precious?" How did you rate the 2 films out of 10?

by creativesaver, 3 months ago

My best Hitchcock was "birds" that was so scary! I love bond films too. I love thrillers in which case you will enjoy "memento" Guy Pearce is the lead actor. It's about 10 yrs old but good. "precious" not a famous cast at the time but really good story line disturbing in bits.

by serena1, 3 months ago

Memento - 9/10 and precious 10/10

by serena1, 3 months ago

Well, CS, if it's snowing, and it's one of those crispy, clear, dry nights, the thing that cheers me up no end is to wait till all the lights have gone out in the neighbouring houses, and then creep outside and dance around madly all along the street and back leaving little footprints all over the fresh snow! :-)

by fruitcake, 3 months ago

Good comfort food, warm fire and good film would keep us all HAPPY.
