Last night I again had visitors to my bedroom. The first was a woman coming towards the bed with a bouquet of beautiful flowers. (This was about 2 a.m.). As soon as she reached me I put my light on quick but no one there. The next was a male but he just passed down the side of my bed and didn't stop. Again I put the light on quick but he was gone. I regularly see people in my bedroom and even saw a black man one night. My house isn't old only 33 years and I and my previous husband and present husband are the only people that have been in the bedroom during the night. Has anyone else had similar experiences.
Oh Sabre, don't, that sort of thing gives me the creeps, really does, and even the mention of it is enough to give me nightmares!! Just out of interest, how do you feel when you see these things?
Wow, Sabre, that's really creepy. If that happened to me I'd probably put it down to too much gin, but I know you're not really a drinker!
Did you and your first husband buy the house from new, or could it have some history that you don't know about?
What was on the land before your house was built sabre? Wonder if that has any bearing?
I wondered that too, Jazzj, but farmland doesn't seem to offer any clues, unless from much further back in time.
it was about 4 years ago i was in the lounge watching tv when the door opend no one there the house went freesing cold and i went as white as a ghost i could not belive it, the back door was locked room door had a spring on it, to be fair it was hard work opening the door 2 weeks later the the house was up for sale they say there no such thing as ghost but i dont know??????????????
Firstly it was a brand new bungalow purchased in 1979 and was built on farm land.
What do I feel when I see these things Jazzj, well it is always completely real as unreal as it sounds. The lady was coming towards me and I could see her face and everything. The man didn't stop but just went down the side of the bed. I have seen my late husband crouched in a corner and many a night I see someone going past the end of the bed. The only time I feel frightened is when I wake up after a nightmare of thinking someone is in the room. I put the fear of God up my hubby's back as it was a really piercing scream.
Interesting you're not frightened by it Sabre.
You asked if anyone else had had anything like this, and I have, but I didn't tell anyone at the time in case people thought I was loopy. A couple of days after my dad died I thought he was sat on the end of my bed telling me not to worry and everything would be ok, seemed completely real to me.
A couple of days after that I had a dream where we were all in the front room chatting as normal, and as I became aware that he shouldn't be there as he'd died he said he was just checking we were ok and faded away.
That is beautiful Jazzj. I must dream about my parents at least three time's a week and wake up heartbroken when I know they are no longer here. The dream seems so real that I don't want to wake up and find them missing. They were wonderful parents and like most people who have lost their loved ones miss them every day of my life.
Think if I saw anyone else on the end of my bed I'd let out a piercing scream too!! I am the wimpiest person I know, even had nightmares after watching Shaun of the Dead, and that's supposed to be a comedy :)
I still dream about my parent too, Sabre, even though they died in 1970 and 1980.
Sadly, I don't seem to be able to dream about the happy times, of which there were many, more usually of when my Dad was dying and my mum was unrecognisable through dementia.
I suppose at least that means it's a relief to wake up, rather than feeling sad that they're no longer with us.
I think we dream about them Feline because they are on our mind so often. How sad your Mum had dementia. My father suffered from that too and it's so awful to see them change into someone quite different. My Mum died three year's before Dad but I must say he was no trouble whatsoever other than he got completely mixed up. I loved them dearly.
Dementia is awful, completely changes the person, I really feel for you both. I think you grieve so much with dementia, once when you get the diagnosis, and most days thereafter as a little bit more of them goes.
Yes, Jazzj, my Mum was not the person I knew and loved when she died. And I felt guilty for years because my (then) husband and I didn't visit her often because she lived 100 miles away and, quite frankly, at the time we couldn't really afford the petrol. I rationaslised this in my head as my two sisters still lived nearby, and Mum didn't even recgonise us when we went to see her. Didn't stop me feeling guilty though.
Oh Feline, I think we always feel guilty. When dad was dying I had three young children, visited him twice a day and still felt guilty! Friend of mine was looking forward to his retirement when his wife started to show signs of dementia. He battled on for ages, putting up with the physical violence, until he had to finally admit she wasn't the same person any more and had to have her put in a home. Broke his heart
I dream of my parents too, both are dead. My father, like yours, Jazzj, came and sat by my bed too. He had this hideous green jumper on, the like of which he wouldn't ever have even owned! I do remember feelng comforted by the 'visit', but when I told my mother about it, she was really upset, and I wish I hadn't.
I've dreamed once or twice about my mother, but they were always bad dreams, not really sure why that is, guilt maybe on my part?!
No, Sabre, I didn't lose them when they were that young, they were just quite old when they had me. But I did love them both dearly and it's sad that I can't have happy dreams about them now.
its very scary sabre it makes you wonder
Sabre, my best friend's like you, he sees people all the time, it's fun when we visit old places, castles and things, because he sees them so often in places like that. I don't mind at all, I don't see what he sees, but I'm not in the slightest scared or nervous! His mum sees them too.
Some people must just be more receptive then. The whole idea scares me although I can't quite put my finger on why it does. Like I said, I think I'm just a wimp!
I think you're right, Jazzj, some people are and some aren't. I must be a wimp too, but I probably wouldn't throw the black man out!!!!!
Feline I'd thrwo anyone out of my bedroom if I hadn't invited them in!
You write about your visitors so matter of factly. I was expecting the post to be about mice! After the immediate reaction of the hair standing up on the back of my neck it struck me that you are not at all intimidated by the presence of these visions and that they equally don't seem to be in any way provocative or threatening to you. Have you had these experiences in any other part of your home, are they isolated to the bedroom? And can you date them by their clothing? Like Jazzj mentioned it would be fascinating to research old maps in your public records office to see if the site has had any historical significance. I'm already imagining a public thoroughfare with people travelling to visit friends with bundles of flowers and black men selling their wares from village to village. Or I have I just seen too many Larkrise to Cranford episodes? I live in a house built in 1850 and thank goodness have never had any similar issues. I can happily wander downstairs in the night by the light of my mobile phone without feeling scared. American friends have maintained that they felt presences but I think they were just being fanciful. Unlike you, had there been any truth in it I would have been out the door like a bullet.
I would love to know more about the area and I shall look into it and let you all know what I find out, Great to hear you stories too.
They are definitely harmless just as if they are passing through.
I do wake my hubby to let him know but he never sees anything. They only happen in the bedroom.
Do let us know sabre, am going to stop reading this thread now as it'll play on my mind and I'll be the one screaming in the night!
I'm fascinated and want to know more! What about the way they are dressed Sabre? Have you had time to take in their clothing? Just trying to discover what historical period they belong to.
Hi,
That sounds fascinating!
There's a research group at the University of York that investigates this sort of thing... They're the Anomolous Experiences Research Unit (AERU)
http://www.york.ac.uk/sociology/research/groups/aeru/
They're always looking for people who've had psychic experiences or are working mediums you know...
I had an interesting experience a few years ago with EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena), if you've seen the film 'White Noise', you will know what I'm talking about. I hadn't seen the film at the time, but I watched it a while after the experience.
I had a possible EVP message recorded on my phone's answering machine, which I eventually sent to a group of psychic investigators. They had it analysed by a sound engineer who decreed it as genuine EVP! That was a bit scary! Can't say I was 100% convinced, but it was really interesting.
Can you tell us what it said?
No, it's a bit indistinct, toosie, but I keep trying to decipher it! It's infuriating, because you can hear words, but can't quite make them out clearly. Apparently, if it was professionally cleaned up, it would be audible, but I haven't arranged that yet, as to be honest, it's a bit spooky!
You patently need CSI technology! lol! On second thoughts perhaps it's best to be blissfully ignorant .
Lol, toosie, but, yes, think maybe I'd rather not know!
Oh no that's seriously spooky fruitcake!!
It's certainly spooked out every person I've played it to... :-O
Well Sabre you are clearly in tune with your psychic side but if I saw these people in this manner, I wouldn't really want to go to bed at all ... you are clearly at peace with this and I find that fascinating. And to be honest, I bet there are some on here who will end up pulling the duvet over their heads at the very thought.
Saying that, I did have a girlfriend once who would report her father standing by the side of the bed even though I saw or felt nothing. The reason that didn't personally cause me alarm was that I felt the whole experience may have been in her imagination albeit still very real to her. Whether this is actually some kind of psychic attunement you have is possible ... I mean that's what psychics do isn't it, see dead people?
And isn't it fascinating that this happens at night and mostly after dark and when you are either woken from sleep or drifting off ... when our imaginations are at their most fertile.
I have a friend who gets regular visits from a gay ghost .. it puts the willies up him ....
The whole thing scares me rigid Snoops. Love the gay ghost, not heard that before :)
This does not surprise me oracle, I own a house(although I no longer live there), in which I regularly saw a monk walking about and very often he leaned over me when I was in bed and spoke to me, but I could not understand his "olde English speech. I often saw him on the landing at night when I went to the bathroom. I was never afraid.
My husband and one of my sons have seen him, also the present tenant, some time ago mentioned it , and I assured him that he was not alone!
P.S. I moved from the house, not because of my visitor, but because I needed a larger property.
Hi Sapphire ... just to satisfy the lady members on this forum, his name wasn't 'Harry' by any chance, was it?
Trust you Snoops
The funny thing is they are not all dead people I see. There is only one which as I said is my late husband and I wasn't at all afraid to see him because I believe for the last 23 year's he has looked after me and the family. The rest are passing through though goodness knows where they are going. Just occasionally I give out a big scream when I do see some one but usually I just lay there until they have gone. Why I would see a tall black man walking passed beats me but he was definitely crossing the bottom of my bed. Hope I haven't frightened anyone but these are harmless people and wouldn't hurt anyone.
Only asking, Sabre, I mean this could be important for the SOS's on her.
Snoopy!!!!!!!
