Why Shouldn't The Government Cap The Bonus Benefits On Nationlised Banks Too?One Rule For The Poor And Another For The Rich.

by , 3 months ago

Yes , most of us probably agree that benefits should be capped on families as a matter od principle. This subject has been already discussed in a previous discussuion raised by me but surely, we have forgotten the huge bank bonuses to be confirmed anytime within the next month. I agree that the government cannot do anything with those banks that were NOT bailed out by taxpayers but Lloyds and RBS were both heavily bailed out to the tune of £66 Billion. Stephen Hester, RBS CEO does not deserve a bonus of millions when RBS is still in dire straits. This is a disgrace!

I agree. As the biggest shareholder, the government should be able to veto the bonuses. Or else have RBS pay for a national referendum so the tax payers (the true owners of RBS) can vote on it!

What it comes down to is that The Banks (capital letters)control everything and governments dance according to how their strings are pulled.
Watching Vince Cable squirming on telly last last night as he refused to take a hard line was proof of this - he is one of that useless subspecies of economists and he owes his patronage to his Grand Masters.
