House Insurance

by , 4 months ago

Have you noticed the premiums keep increasing, every year, determined to get mine a bit lower I discovered that the Insurance value was set too high and reducing this amount altered the premium. Therefore saving about £60. Has anyone else noticed this.

No lakes and I have only done mine last month. I was, if you can be pleased with insurance, glad to see it had only gone up a couple of pounds but that was after negotiations with the Company. You have to fight your corner nowadays and if they think you will be changing companies offer you a reduction.

I dont have any insurance havent ever had any except for maybe a year or two 10 years ago.

Dont actually know what an average premium would be - I do all my own repairs and Im ultra safe and secure so dont really need it.

Oh dear OD. Hope you never have a fire or anything like that.

Yeah me too!

I have a couple of surveillance cameras in my flat and outside - now down to £35 and they can pan and tilt right round and have motion detection and instant record facility so even if I was in Slovakia I would know within seconds if a fire broke out or someone was breaking in and with the video evidence to prove it.

Its the best thing i've ever bought - great fun , great gadget and if you have always on internet I would recommend everyone on here get one. You can even view and control the cameras (up to 32) from your mobile phone.

That sounds like a brilliant idea OD. Good to know your house is safe.

I am on the top floor flat with secure entry so not much chance of a breakin really only fire and flood so never really wanted insurance as I have always bought top floor flats except for once I bought a house and hated it.

I like to be king and look down on all the proles.

I tend to have halifax insurance for the 'unlimited contents cover' so I don't have to worry about valuing everything I own. They still come out to be one of the cheapest insurers on comparison sites :)
