Today I woke up to find my BT Broadband had gone down, leaving me with a red light on my router. I rang any number I could find .... customer service, BT Broadband technical support, BT Fault reporting and yes I devoted 90 minutes of my day to those great guys in India. I was given a different story by each one but they all kept saying that I do not have BT Broadband Service and I should be talking to my ISP supplier. I have paperwork to celebrate my BT Broadband in 2002, my home screen confirms I am a BT Total Broadband Customer, I have a BT email and my payment out of my bank for my broadband goes to 'BT Group PLC' and my BT Landline also goes out under 'BT Group PLC'. And yet each and every one of these guys told me I don't have broadband with BT. You almost get the impression that BT couldn't organise a hand shandy in a brothel!
I asked time and again for a UK representative but was told that was not possible ... and in the end we all had a laugh, otherwise I was ready to cry. Over the years I have emailed BT about my Broadband account but, you guessed it, never got a reply. I am paying this money every month, never get an invoice or somewhere I can go to view one. It feels like I am being ripped off without any evidence to support it.
Oh and the fault was actually a burnt out Belkin Router, less than a year old and alas I had to replace from Argos at speed as I work intensively from home at the moment.
But what about this BT fracas and my mysterious BT Total Broadband supply that they all deny? Any ideas?
well we are on a 6 month free trial of BT Infinity with mega fast broadband. We are very happy with the service. But we've had it 10 months now. No-one seems interested in asking us to pay for it. We're not chasing them up over it........
yes i also hate call centre in india, every time when i am put through they don't listened what you saying and keep reapeating same thing like parrot most of the time they give wrong information and yes diffrent story every time.
Oh, Snoops, that's crazy! Have you got any hair left on your head?!
I get at least a call every week from BT trying to get me to switch to their broadband, despite me continually telling them I'm happy with my Virgin broadband. They keep telling me it's cheaper with them, but they aren't comparing like with like. I'm so glad now that I didn't agree if this is what they do. I can view months and months worth of my Virgin bills online, and they send an email every month as well to tell me the latest one's now available. Virgin are not perfect, but they don't sound quite that bad!
As to your mysterious 'non-broadband', why not send them a 'non-payment'?? They will very quickly decide then that you do have broadband with them!
I wonder if by are on the fiddle?.... Only joking!
It does seem very odd indeed! I'm with sky now was virgin before no pun intended! I have no problems and do find them cheaper in my area anyway.
Also one of my clients works in a by call centre and takes calls so that is nonsense that there are no uk based call centres limited maybe nevertheless there is. The Indian call centre wouldn't want to transfer you to a uk as they might feel inadequate in dealing with your query! As long as you are sorted now snoops. Perhaps next time you might get a young Indian lady and who knows where it could lead to lol oh now I'm not sure if you can buy an Indian bride I think it's Thailand the place for that!!
Ever considered a Thai bride, snoopy? I hear they love you long time!!!
What an absolute shower Snoopy.
I've 'Googled' around a bit as I suspect you've also done and come up with this selection of contacts:-
I have a feeling though that this will also be a fruitless task, still keep trying and as hubby suggests and does when he's completely cheesed off is write to the head honcho.
Crikey, Snoops, that must be one of the most inefficient things I've ever heard of.
If you keep paying them the money and they never send you a bill, you can't even see the details of calls made on your landline so they could be ripping you off horrendously.
I agree with fruits. Try cancelling your payment and see what happens. They might even not notice!
I'm with BT too Snoops, and you have to be very very persistnet to get through to someone in England. I have done it, but it takes HOURS. In my case the line goes down when its windy, and the call centre insists its my pc's fault every time. When you get through to the engineers here they're very efficient
Just be thankful something went down on you!
>;)
Ps. Forget Belkin router get a Linksys/Cisco it will last you years and better reliability.
Oh OD, there goes the tone on the forum yet again!! Lol
Yes OD it did go down on me ... quite took my breath away as I was looking out of the window at the time!
Funny enough, I did try to get a Linksys/Cisco router replacement from Argos but they had been sold out. Suggests how popular they are.
I *hate* BT. I had so many problems with them that I switched to O2 and never looked back. Freephone, UK based support that picks up quickly and gets things solved. Plus it's much cheaper than BT and as I've been with them for two years, it's all half price for this year(!)

I could give you a number to phone roseangel ..... ha!
and the call center will deny that you have the Infinity service :-)
or even that you are a BT customer.
Awesome! That's the kind of incompetence that *gains* customers :)
