Unusual Advertising on the Poundland website!!!

by , 5 months ago

I am often amazed at the lack of professionalism in the UK shopping / advertising - hell everything markets from bad spelling to bad customer service and we can't even get a website done properly and checked!

Unreal!

Has Britain really had it?
Are we really the lowest of the low...
It does seem so - feral society , thick ignorant parents and kids.
No ambition , no personlity , no pride in our work or anything else.

Saddens me greatly so it does!!!

I suspect that the 'Do Not Use' slogan applies to the size of the box pictured. It is totally misleading as the box size available in store is so much smaller.

In fact the rise of the poundshops has meant that they are able to dicatate to manufacturers product sizes in order to incraese their profit margins. In recent years the size of After Eight's, Toblerones and soap have all been reduced in size.

Quite right Parchester, I mean just look at the size of those ghastly Mars Bars, for those who like them they're hardly worth having now.

Also the Pound shops aren't always the cheapest. I have found toiletries and a range of other products to be on sale more cheaply in Wilkinsons and some supermarkets.

by Parchester, 5 months ago

That's why they call them 'fun size' Lillie! You can have a lot of fun with a small Mars bar!

by Snoopy48, 5 months ago

Especially good when you deep fry them Snoops. Not kidding we used to when we had a fish shop. Sounds really weird until you try one.

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Oh dear, small, fun sized, deep fried it's not sounding like my idea of a treat.
Now large, wholesome and fulfilling that's more like it, and I don't mean those sickly Mars bars either!

Are you being naughty again Lillie or is it my interpretation of what you have just posted ?????

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Me naughty Sabre??? Really....as if I would sink to such depths of innuendo or double entendres.. :)
I was talking about my lovely chewy Curly Wurly!!

by LILLIE, 5 months ago

Ah.. hole some..curly wurly.. I see..bit slow today Lillie, been a long day :)

by Jazzj, 5 months ago

"Now large, wholesome and fulfilling that's more like it" .... been on the vino have we , our Lillie? Minds like sewers, the lot of you ..

by Snoopy48, 5 months ago

Chewy curley wurley Lillie - mmmmmmmm
sounds a bit odd to me

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Snoopy..hic....haven't touched a drop since....the last time.
BTW there's nothing odd about my Curly Wurly Sabre, it's quite straight forward..!

by LILLIE, 5 months ago

Do you put it in curlers Lillie ?

by Sabre, 5 months ago

I can only guess that the Poundland promotion is aimed at people to whom the 'Christmas Pound Specials' appeal ..... and they would probably not review the artwork or presentation. Sad to say, but that's exactly where we are heading. Having said that, I was particularly taken with the "In Car Golf Trolley Battery Charger", usual price £82.30, that excited me beyond all recognition, until I realised that no one I know plays golf, let alone has an electric trolley .... so it'll just have to be packs of three Walnut Whips for a quid as my stocking fillers!

by Snoopy48, 5 months ago

Lol...Snoopy, I'll settle for the walnut whips too, cheap at twice the price.

by LILLIE, 5 months ago

Thats a blast from the past, my mum used to love walnut whips!

by Jazzj, 5 months ago

Cheer up Omend dear, it'll soon be Christmas. Their wrapping paper is reasonably priced that is if anyone can afford anything to put in it these days.

by LILLIE, 5 months ago

Yes it was a bit of a mess OD but some people never see a mess only the savings at the end.

I too thought the Golf charger was an excellent present but thought again that no one in my immediate family plays golf. Only the couple next door but we don't buy Christmas presents.

I think you ought to go and work for Poundland OD and sort out their on line advertising.

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Oh, I don't know, Omen, if you click on the 'Find your nearest store' button, you can have the most delicious fun just watching all the little red '£' dots appearing all over the UK! ;-)

by fruitcake, 5 months ago

Delicious fun, Fruitcake? I have sat watching until the last red '£' dot appeared and I still don't feel deliciously funned up yet ... perhaps another class of delicious red and I might just get there .... :@0

by Snoopy48, 5 months ago

Little things amuse little minds Snoops sad when you think I was sat watching all the last £ dots. Must be more to life than this. Must get out more that's my New Year's resolution.

by Sabre, 5 months ago

It's a bit like a joke you've heard before Sabre, you know what's coming!

by Snoopy48, 5 months ago

I was laughing at that fruity - show's what inquisitive minds we have eh?

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Indeed, Sabre, I wondered how many of you would be daft enough to try it! ;-)

by fruitcake, 5 months ago

Oh I'm a daft one fruity always have to have a look. Husband say's I like a long nosed ferret. Charming isn't he ?

by Sabre, 5 months ago

Yes, but honest! ;-)

by fruitcake, 5 months ago
