Cocoa crisis imminent according to an article today

Start stockpiling your chocolate as it may not be any around much longer. It is thought there will be a million ton cocoa shortage within 8 year's.

Part of the problem is the growing demand for chocolate in Asia where Countries like China are turning more towards western tastes.

Yes, I heard on Radio 4 the other day that this will affect all sorts of foodstuffs as the demands of the Chinese get larger. Also, as they will be able to pay more, apparently it will put the prices up for the West as well.

I just hope the Chinese decide they prefer milk chocolate as I couldn't live without the dark stuff!
