In a sentance their business not ours life goes on.

It seems pretty clear to me that a lot of these unions are nothing more than manufactured showmances not genuine romances because it would help and increase each others' fame status and net worth. Alex Reid and Jordan, Alex Reid and Chantelle,Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries and of course Madonna and her toy boys. Most of these people are very shallow in character.

I have to endorse what CS says here ... this is nothing short of a showbiz pact of convenience and glamour just to fuel their own kudos. And it would hardly be a marriage made in heaven, what with their individual work pressures and personal lifestyles. You bet your life, this pair have their pre-nuptual agreement carved in masonry. But to be honest, Russell Brand? Is he an adonis to be lusted over? I simply cannot imagine this pair snuggling down under the duvet, cocoa in hand and small chit chat flowing between them. Of course I could be wrong ...

These rumours have been going on for months, Sabre, and no, I'm not surprised. Any 'showbiz' marriage is far more difficult to maintain than it is for the rest of us, and it's not exactly easy for the rest of us either. I don't believe, like CS does, that most of these people are very shallow in character, some are, some aren't.

I do wish them both well, though, and hope their still quite new marriage survives. If I could give them any advice, it would be to get out of the limelight for a while and work on their marriage.

I'm not into celebrities in any way, but I do like Russell Brand very much, people confuse his public persona with his private one, and I wish him and Katy Perry well.

I was quite sad hearing the news, Sabre! I actually watched quite a few interviews with Russell Brand and he did say he had found the one and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her! I honestly thought they were quite genuinely smittened with each other!! They do make a nice couple hopefully its just a blip in the marriage and they can make it work.

I think it's all a bit up in the air. In a recent interview on TV, Katy Perry hinted she wanted babies with Mr. Brand.

Who knows what's happening?

And who cares?

Oh, actually I do.

If they break up Katy's back on the market... Single, vulnerable and with a history of liking the company of thirtysomething British men.

Oh yeah.

Grooaan! why oh why don't these 'celebs' at least give marriage a real try?
I'll be cynical here too and suggest it may have all just been a media ploy.
After forty years of a happy marriage (I know I'm one of the lucky ones) and agree if the partnership is wrong then yes get out of it but at least give it a decent try.
