At first its a bit funny....Then you realise the awful truth of it.
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the ground in
Which he's laid.
When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the
most prosperous in the world.. We had absolutely no national debt, had a
large middle class, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.
Apologies for it being so due to being double-line-spaced .... it wasn't when I posted it!!!!
If you break the law (everybody does) and get caught you now pay a Victim tax. They named that one correctly, we are all victims!
Okay, here's some sobering thoughts in reponse Wendie ...
Taxation, regardless of its age or purpose, is simply a levy on life. Individuals gain their income by working for it and providing a service in some shape or form. Unless they happen to be criminals!
The people that levy taxes should be providing a balance sheet in response as to where the money is going. But not all of that taxation buys us personal benefit ( such as roads, local services, policing ) as a lot of it goes to pay others in the form of social benefits ... income support, housing benefit etc.
So a part of the tax we pay goes into other individual's pockets ... a form of money sharing if you like. The more people in the country we have, the more we need to share our money and hence, I suspect, the more taxation we need to incur. In it's darkest interpretation, taxation is 'money at gunpoint' for the so called common good.
New taxes and enforced payments are creeping in all of the time. Remember when you could park your car without having to pay £2 an hour? We have made a rod for our own backs in this world .... life over the past 100 years has been excessively complicated by the 'jobsworth' in life ... raising revenue by increasing taxes or introducing new ones is just their simple way of plugging a financial blackhole. But the strain that it puts on society is never taken into account. You only have to watch a film from the sixties to see how simple our lives were then in comparison.
We have become a society of supply and demand, and as far as taxes go, the demand wins hands down. I can well understand why some people reject society, can't you?
On a final note, VAT at 20% is going to be the death knell of economic survival. The sun may be shining right now but I forecast on of the biggest winters of discontent on its way!
Couldnt have said it better myself.
Really I mean "I couldnt"!
He is so intelligent , erudite and classy our man snoopy I wish I was him....Well until I saw the grey hair that is!
hehe
>;o)))))evil))))
I don't mind grey hair in a man, Omen. Wouldn't you prefer going grey to going bald?
OD ... would you be offended if I called you a Pizza Taking Parrot? lol!
No certainly not makes a refreshing change from "you ugly twatstik".
And thats just family.
>;o)
Indeed I am going grey in my sideboxers - I am considering some Grecian 2000.
Oh, doesn't that just say it all, wendie! Those of us who remain within the law, work hard, and pay our taxes are just squeezed more and more. One day they will squeeze us all so hard that we burst and there will be a bloody revolution!
Excellent, wendiew, as Benjamin Franklin said 'In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes'.
Thought provoking indeed! no wonder so many popstars live abroad so much and have business peoplehave offshore accounts to hive off the money.
Well I am speechless!
Never a truer word Wendi.
Oh income tax! you break our backs,
The government takes all,
A thief by any other name ,
Would never have such gall.
very good poem thanks fo sharing
Very sobering!
Its actually quite depressing mind you reality always is!
Give me fantasy anyday!
No wonder people take drugs!
lol
If they could they would stick a monitor on your lungs and tax the air we breath just a load of crooks
I keep expecting to hear from Snoopy on this one about one of the few things that's not taxed yet.
I know how about a tax on the number of children you have?
According to a recent report the number of migrants mainly gypsies and muslims are having an average of 4 children per family which is putting a huge burden on school sand the Nhs.
Eastern Europeans on average have 1.5 children so all the anti eastern european stuff is sad as they seem to be the ones who come in and do the work.
The arabs etc all just come in and sit on the dole with their twenty kids , harem of women and five houses - I mean how can that guy the preacher they called the hook have 2 million pound houses and a family of 10 all living off the dole - cmon lets say it as it is - they all know the system - its all given to them on a plate in the mosque - the free o% loans the free advice on ripping our system apart.
Sad that some have to keep their mouths shut for fear of saying what they feel because it might be construed as being not politically correct.
Bolls i say!
Bowlacks even!
Omen, please carry on with your 'politically incorrect' posts.
You just say what everyone else thinks.

That actually made it easier to read, wendie. I don't think they've actually started taxing us on line spaces yet, but I'm not holding my breath!
Are you spluttering yet, Feline?! ;-)
lol, fruits! Was spluttering a bit but a quick gin did the trick.
Ooh, careful, you wouldn't want to spill any!
