Fuel retailers are systematically failing to pass on a fall in wholesale petrol costs, which saw prices in Europe dip 4.4% in January to 121p a litre. Britons, by contrast, saw a 1.18% increase to 129p. Where's the fairness in that?
Unleaded petrol yesterday hit a record £5.86 a gallon while diesel was also in uncharted territory at £6.10 a gallon, or 134p a litre. It means filling up the 70-litre tank of a family saloon now costs £90.20 - compared with £78.47 a year ago. Where's the fairness in that?
To make matters worse the AA said that even though wholesale costs have started to rise again, European prices are 3% lower than three weeks ago, compared with 0.8% higher in the UK.
I think it is time we seriously thought about starting our own revolution because the government will do nothing in order to stabilize prices.
I really don't understand CS why it's taking so long for the transport industry to start up the blockades etc. again.
This is the worse things have ever been for them, is something brewing I wonder?
I don't know how much more they or we can take!
This robbing government wont do a thing about this and actually encourage the increases in order to collect more tax on the product. We are only European when it suits the people in power and if its something that involves revenue we are British over taxed mugs with no guts to try and alter the situation.
