If anyone has bought a property overseas (Spain, Canary Islands in particular) do you have any advice to share please.

After years of dreaming and saving up we have just found a great apartment in Lanzarote and I'm busy asking endless questions and getting every 'i' dotted and 't' crossed to ensure nothing goes wrong. Hopefully make an offer in the next few days. Anyone know of something I should ask but may have forgotten, or any experiences to share? Of course we've already made sure the property is legal and proper etc, but any help/advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
