Somuch easier then paying loads of interest !!
Wouldn't that be nice! Unfortunately it won't happen as no interest means no profits and I can't see anyone that would be willing to offer this for free unless you have a close family member that would be willing to help you out on an interest free basis.
I think, though I have never used one, that one could research the availability of Credit Unions in your local area. Rules apply, they tend to be quite ethical and their are limits, but people in difficulties are not exploited if it is a proper credit union. Worth finding out , I think local ones are just that, and areas differ, so if you live local you benefit from that one.
True, everything is based on profit these days.No one is willing to do anything without gaining something in return. The world we live in is material based unfortunately.
A credit union is probably the closest thing.
What a lovely idea, but how could such an organisation actually exist? How would they pay their employees, pay the rent on their offices, their utility bills, etc., etc?
I agree that a credit union is probably the nearest thing to this as they operate fairly and don't exploit people, but they still have to pay their bills.
nice idea, but it wouldn't be sustainable. As well as the issues everyone else has raised, it would open up a big loop hole allowing people to get as large a loan as possible, only to put it into a high interest account!
Isn't it easier not to have accrued the debt, which demands "paying loads of interest" in the first place?
My brother is in serious debt but as I remind him no one FORCED him into this position. His choices have placed him there. He borrowed the money that was made available to him, on his credit cards against purchases of items that he didn't need or truly want and because he paid for these things with plastic he didn't feel as though he was paying real money for them.
I know this sounds extremely hard but I fail to understand why people who have consciously chosen to live beyond their means warrant any sympathy or special dispensations.
The real victims of the credit crunch and the economic downturn are those who have been prudent and saved for their future and are now punished by having low or non-existent interest rates.
How would such an organisation stay in business? It sounds great for the customers .... FREE MONEY!!!..... but totally unrealistic unfortunately. Nice idea though.
